Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Review 2022
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a gaming laptop with a 16-inch display and an AMD processor and Nvidia GPU.
The design, like that of most other Lenovo gaming laptops, is quiet. Unlike most gaming laptops, the design is enjoyable. What is the performance of a laptop starting at Rp 25 million? Let's take a look at the following review.
Design Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
Lenovo keeps the Legion 5 Pro's design simple and elegant. Even more so in the unit we tested, which was painted in storm grey. The body is quite large due to the large screen size, which is 16 inches.

However, because the screen bezel is relatively thin, the body is not dissimilar to that of a 15 inch laptop. The weight is 2.45kg, which is relatively light for a laptop of this class. Even so, with such a heavy weight, carrying the Legion 5 Pro around can be painful.
Lenovo maintains a port layout that is divided into three sections: left, right, and back. The port on the back is reserved for large plugs such as chargers and HDMI. There is also a USB-C port for DisplayPort 1.4 output.
Sail of Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
Another intriguing feature of the Legion 5 Pro is its screen ratio, which is 16:10 rather than 16:9 like most laptops. The display used an IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels in the unit we received. The highest refresh rate is 165Hz, and the highest brightness level is 500nits.
The screen is a lot of fun to look at, and not just for gaming. Because of its high colour accuracy, it can even be used to watch and process photos.
This laptop is also suitable for work due to its 16:10 aspect ratio (typing and browsing). Because of its higher vertical resolution, it can display more documents and web pages.
Keyboard Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
In terms of the keyboard, the Legion 5 Pro employs a Lenovo TrueStrike keyboard. The keyboard keys are almost identical to those found in the Thinkpad series, making it very comfortable to use when typing or playing games. It also has a rgb backlit display that can be customised in terms of colour and caption level.
The keyboard has a Numbpad key on the right, which shifts the keyboard position to the left, including the position of the touchpad, which is parallel to the space bar.
The keyboard's comfort is determined by individual preferences. However, for me, the left-leaning keyboard makes playing games on the Legion 5 Pro just a little more comfortable. While the position of the keyboard is not particularly comfortable for other purposes, such as typing.
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro has a good performance.
To be sure, the combination of the Ryzen 7 5800H and the RTX 3070 used in the testing unit resulted in extremely fast performance. All of the games we tested could be played at adequate frame rates, at maximum resolution, and (almost always) on the flat right.
With the highest settings, this 165Hz refresh rate can easily achieve a frame rate of 165fps (or more) in competitive games like CS:GO.
But, as with all fast gaming laptops, the fan noise is audible. Because the heat generated by the CPU and GPU combination must still be vented outside the laptop.
Fortunately, the temperature on the keyboard's surface is relatively stable, especially above the WASD key, which is the primary key in most games. The top of the laptop generates the most heat because it is a hot dump.
Similarly, Legion Coldfront 3.0's stable performance is due to its good heat disposal. Oh, and there is also the option to reduce the noise by selecting Quiet mode. Although the temperature of the processor and GPU will undoubtedly rise if this mode is enabled.
